About The Position

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join their team in Anniston, AL. This role is crucial for ensuring operational reliability by planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner will focus on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and supporting the safe and effective use of maintenance resources. Tyler Union has a long history of success in manufacturing and selling products for the waterworks industry.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance technology, or industrial operations or equivalent experience.
  • At least three (3) years of maintenance planning / scheduling experience (heavy manufacturing preferred).
  • Experience with CMMS (SAP, Maximo, etc.).
  • Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical / electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of reliability practices, predictive maintenance.
  • Familiarity with maintenance KPIs and metrics.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Related certification (e.g. CMRT, CMRP, PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work plans for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Create and schedule maintenance work orders in CMMS.
  • Ensure materials, tools, and labor are available prior to work.
  • Review job plans with maintenance supervisors and crafts.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance metrics (e.g. backlog, schedule adherence, downtime).
  • Assist in root cause analysis and reliability improvement efforts.
  • Maintain BOMs, parts lists, and spare parts inventory.
  • Lead planning / coordination meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and maintenance standards.
  • Update maintenance documentation, drawings, procedures.
  • Provide support during shutdowns, outages, or critical events.
  • Promote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols outlined in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.
