About The Position

This position is responsible for planning maintenance activities and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. This is a career path job with team members in this position gaining experience necessary for maintenance management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school or GED diploma.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of in-house mechanical experience, including at least two (2) years specifically in the rendering maintenance department.
  • Formal mechanical skills training completed through Tyson maintenance training is required.
  • Working knowledge of parts room procedures and policies.
  • Must either be proficient or become proficient in SAP maintenance and Microsoft Office Suite in 90 days or less.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, interpersonal communication skills, and problem-solving skills are an absolute necessity for this position.
  • The position requires the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Any special training in maintenance or education beyond post-high school level is preferred.
  • Previous experience in planning and scheduling maintenance management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining SAP PM System data and reporting.
  • Analyzing data for use in maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Maintaining and developing enterprise-wide Best Practice preventative maintenance.
  • Ensuring a continuing review of P.M. work orders as they relate to equipment history.
  • Making recommended modifications to optimize equipment reliability and maintenance labor utilization.
  • Learning Universal Maintenance Standards to develop reasonable expectancies for the time to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Identifying and labeling all new equipment in keeping with Tyson standards and keeping records current.
  • Using Key Performance Indicators to provide fact-based feedback to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Planning maintenance work with regard to the level of skill and safety training required to complete tasks.
  • Reviewing SAP data from other Tyson locations with similar equipment and reporting findings and recommendations.
  • Administering maintenance shift scheduling, work order backlog, and recommended planning for scheduled downtime work, including scheduling availability of parts.
  • Interfacing with engineering, local management, Operations Support, and various other corporate departments as necessary, and outside entities when working on special projects and when performing CIR development content.
  • Interfacing with Operations Support concerning appropriate reports to develop, track, and report to management.
