About The Position

Turner Industries Group, LLC is hiring a senior-level Maintenance Planner for its Project Controls Team. The planner will be placed at a jobsite in the St. Charles, Louisiana area and should have relevant experience with equipment, piping, structural steel, and light civil work. The role may involve planning maintenance, turnarounds, small capital projects, or a combination of these activities. The planner is expected to mentor and coach junior teammates and be available to support colleagues at all organizational levels. The position involves assessing work scope, estimating labor and material requirements across multiple disciplines, developing work plans, and preparing job plan packages. The planner works with field supervision, Project Controls, subject matter experts, and clients to develop schedules, cost deliverables, and executable work packages. Compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.

Requirements

Two years of field planning experience in any combination of industrial maintenance, capital projects, outages, or turnarounds.
Four years of jobsite mechanical craft experience, or a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related curriculum.
Strong background in planning piping and/or structural work scopes.
Ability to estimate material and labor quantities for multiple craft disciplines from industrial construction drawings.
Proficiency with computer-based Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to climb and develop planning packages from elevated structures.
Ability to estimate and plan work involving equipment, piping, structural steel, and light civil.
Ability to conduct job walks and develop work steps, craft breakdowns, and man-hour requirements with subject matter experts.

Nice To Haves

NCCER certification, craft journeyman status, or foreman experience in industrial construction, maintenance, or turnarounds.
Experience with planning software applications.
Experience with Turner applications WinTake®, QuickPlan®, and Win PCS®.
Experience with SAP, Excel, and Google functional tools.

Responsibilities

Review specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine work scope and estimate requirements.
Prepare estimates, including complete takeoffs of work scope, materials, outside services, and subcontractors.
Review historical data and incorporate it into resource and man-hour estimates.
Estimate extras, change orders, and discovery work items, and maintain working documents and estimate backups.
Use client ERP systems to identify upcoming installations, maintenance, and repairs.
Estimate direct craft labor hours and work duration; perform material takeoffs for repair or replace-in-kind work.
Determine resource and skill requirements and document resource utilization and timing in the client ERP system.
Develop scope options and present compatible work-package or similar-scope combinations to the client.
Document change-order requests arising from drawing deviations, field-condition changes, or engineering errors.
Conduct job walks and work collaboratively with discipline subject matter experts to develop job steps, craft breakdowns, and required man-hours.
Monitor and document scope progress in the client ERP system and/or Turner applications.
Prepare subcontractor work packages for bidding and work execution.
Walk down job scope requests, estimate labor hours for multiple disciplines, develop work plans, and create job plan packages.
Lead Interactive Planning Sessions to align Field Supervision and Project Controls on pre-execution schedule and cost deliverables.
Mentor and coach junior teammates and other colleagues as needed.
