About The Position

The Maintenance Systems Planner is required to maximize operating profit through planned maintenance activities and maximize equipment operational availability through implementing effective planning methods, while maintaining TS/ISO and trade equivalent standards. This is accomplished by scheduling, tracking and evaluating preventative maintenance to plant equipment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of automotive assembly experience an asset
  • Prior planning and scheduling experience combined with excellent organizational skills
  • Experience using CMS and / or CMMS preferred and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel an asset
  • Ability to learn new systems and programs quicky as asset
  • Highly analytical in nature, able to interpret, manipulate, and present data using exceptional computer skills
  • Able to work in conjunction with skilled trades persons
  • Able to interpret preventative maintenance feedback and use this feedback to develop and implement action plans that improve our preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance data collection and information gathering by analysing data for improvements to equipment. Generates monthly reports highlighting issues.
  • Participates in the implementation of preventative maintenance applications and software.
  • Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process. Ensures the execution of all tasks as planned and re-plans as required.
  • Constantly revalidates the time requirements of each task, ensures cost to complete are captured and documented.
  • Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work. Work with production scheduling to schedule downtime to complete in-week and weekend PM’s that provide the most effective production and maintenance outcomes.
  • Monitor PM completeness and schedule/reschedule accordingly to achieve 100% completion
  • Purchase all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work.
  • Attend and participate in project review meetings, assist in departments long-term planning strategies.
  • At least quarterly review of completed PM’s and inventory with an emphasis on reducing inventory while ensuring the right parts are available when needed.
  • Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and records database.
  • Responsible for the CMS/E-Maintenance CMMS work order data base and data integrity, keeping files/logs of the equipment and tooling preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Schedules weekly Preventative Maintenance work orders (cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, inspections, small and large repairs).
  • Coordinates data and produces reports required daily, weekly and monthly by the Technical Supervisor, Maintenance Area Leader.
  • Facilitates in the scheduling of, and participates in, shift crossover meetings.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators are documented and reported for maintenance department performances, equipment reliability, maintenance department planning and budgeting.
  • Facilitates and participates in the weekly team meetings where KPI’s, action item status, and maintenance performance is reviewed, and actions planned.
  • Participates in scheduled meetings for long range asset planning.
  • Coordinates and plans work orders for internal operations and identifies material for purchase/requisition.
