About The Position

Join a global leader in biotechnology and play a key role in supporting the maintenance and reliability of critical manufacturing and utility systems. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner and a Scheduler to join the Maintenance & Utilities Operational Services team in Broadmeadows. This position is responsible for developing detailed maintenance job plans, coordinating resources and materials, and supporting the efficient execution of maintenance activities across a complex and highly regulated manufacturing environment. You will work closely with maintenance engineers, technicians, schedulers and contractors to ensure maintenance activities are planned effectively, safely, and in accordance with operational requirements and be responsible for developing and maintaining weekly maintenance schedules that optimize resource utilization and minimize plant downtime.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a relevant post-trade technical qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within maintenance, engineering or industrial operations
  • Experience working in a maintenance planning role within a manufacturing, processing or industrial environment
  • Experience scheduling maintenance activities in a processing or manufacturing environment using modern digital planning tools (e.g., SAP).
  • Strong knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Project
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food manufacturing or other highly regulated industry experience
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements
  • Maintenance planning qualifications or recognized maintenance management training
  • Experience planning maintenance activities within process plants

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans and work packs
  • Develop clear, achievable weekly maintenance schedules in collaboration with maintenance and production teams
  • Create and manage work orders through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Coordinate procurement and reservation of engineering materials, tools and equipment
  • Support maintenance scheduling through accurate planning and resource allocation
  • Track schedule compliance, analyze performance data, and propose improvements.
  • Conduct site inspections to determine maintenance scopes and requirements
  • Maintain equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering master data
  • Develop isolation plans and support safe work systems
  • Monitor planning effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve work execution and plant reliability
