This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, engineers, you will be responsible for ensuring high labor productivity and work quality by defining job tasks, estimating duration, identifying constraints, and assigning appropriate resources. This includes defining parts and materials, crafts and skills, safety requirements, and engaging the proper resources to develop safe, effective, and efficient job plans. Requirements

  • Mechanical, electrical, controls experience in Industrial/Manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning.
  • Ability to read schematics, drawings and technical manuals and understand complex equipment functionality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge and experience with a CMMS (Maximo preferred).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Make field walk downs and determine appropriate job work scopes.
  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans that enable efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of work.
  • Identify job requirements, including labor estimates, parts, materials, tools, craft support, safety permits, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Partner with Inventory Specialists to ensure required parts, tools, and materials are identified, ordered, received, and available before scheduled work.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, maintain, and optimize maintenance plans, job packages, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare maintenance planning reports, metrics, and other documentation as required.
  • Use maintenance history, equipment performance data, technician feedback, and reliability findings to continuously improve PM plans, maintenance intervals, and job execution strategies.
  • Create, review, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) strategies, including PM job plans, frequencies, procedures, and task lists, to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Apply knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance practices and condition-monitoring technologies, including ultrasound and infrared thermography (IR), to support proactive maintenance planning and identify emerging equipment issues.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling two-week maintenance schedule, balancing preventive, corrective, and project work with production priorities and resource availability.
  • Partner with work centers, operations, and production teams to define machine availability, coordinate equipment downtime, and align maintenance activities with operational requirements.
