About The Position

Boeing Defense is currently looking for a Maintenance Plumber/Pipefitter in Ridley Park, PA to join their team. This role involves planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing various plumbing systems in an industrial plant, including steam, air, gas, water, oil, gasoline, hydraulic, fire lines, and sanitary systems. The position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, understand plumbing codes, braise and solder pipes, and prepare material lists. Responsibilities include installing and repairing fixtures, diagnosing and correcting system malfunctions, and working closely with other crafts. The role also requires adherence to company safety and housekeeping standards. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, necessitating the applicant to be a "US Person".

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience installing waste, vent, or plumbing systems.
  • 3 or more years of experience with facilities requirements, analysis, planning, design standards and specifications and building codes.
  • Ability to braise and solder pipes.
  • Ability to plan, lay out pipe routing according to state certified insurance codes.
  • Ability to install sanitary plumbing fixtures.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints.
  • Must be a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) to meet Export Control compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of gas fired equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout, install, test, and repair steam, air, gas, water, oil, gasoline, hydraulic, fire lines, and sanitary plumbing systems in an industrial plant.
  • Use blueprints, sketches, specifications, and knowledge of state, municipal, and insurance plumbing codes to determine pipe routing, sequence of operations, and location of plumbing fixtures and fittings.
  • Prepare materials list of pipe and fittings, mark lines and points to locate pipe routes and fittings, make openings, install work, and repair openings.
  • Install, connect, and wipe joints, test, and repair sanitary plumbing fixtures such as urinals, toilets, wash basins, and drinking fountains.
  • Install, connect, and test pressure systems such as compressed air, steam, sprinkler, hydraulic, oil, gasoline, and gas-fired equipment.
  • Diagnose trouble in systems and take corrective action, such as repairing and/or replacing clogged sewer lines, steam equipment, water supply lines, and sprinklers.
  • Perform work requiring knowledge of sanitary plumbing systems, their malfunctions and corrective action, pressure systems, steam equipment, and water supply lines.
  • Plan and lay out pipe routing according to state certified insurance codes.
  • Give instruction to lower level employees and work closely with other crafts.
  • Perform work in accordance with oral and written instructions from management and in conformance with company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping practices.
