About The Position

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks which include but are not limited to; painting, drywall installation and finishing, basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, machine and equipment repair, building hardware repair and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Walk up and down stairs.
Walk/stand for long periods.
Must be able to work on high ladders and personnel lifts.
A high school or equivalent trade school diploma.
A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

2 to 5 years of general building maintenance, or building trades experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Must be able to trouble shoot and initiate repairs.
Works with the Director of Facilities to develop the best approach to maintain and repair all aspects of the physical plant both interior and exterior.
May assist in various project work as necessary.
Must be able to utilize accumulated knowledge and analytical skills on occasion to solve unique problems, which may occur.
Be responsible and punctual.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Keep supervisor informed as necessary.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information and issues worked with.
Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
Ability to work safely and promote and create a safe work environment.
