About The Position

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks which include but are not limited to; painting, drywall installation and finishing, basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, machine and equipment repair, building hardware repair and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Walk up and down stairs.
  • Walk/stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to work on high ladders and personnel lifts.
  • A high school or equivalent trade school diploma.
  • A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 to 5 years of general building maintenance, or building trades experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to trouble shoot and initiate repairs.
  • Works with the Director of Facilities to develop the best approach to maintain and repair all aspects of the physical plant both interior and exterior.
  • May assist in various project work as necessary.
  • Must be able to utilize accumulated knowledge and analytical skills on occasion to solve unique problems, which may occur.
  • Be responsible and punctual.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Keep supervisor informed as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information and issues worked with.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
  • Ability to work safely and promote and create a safe work environment.
