Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working as a production line mechanic, facilities mechanic or parts /purchasing /storeroom technician.
  • Ability to comprehend machine manuals and drawings with a clear interpretation of their meaning.
  • Good general shop knowledge.
  • Proficient knowledge of parts and materials as well as their nomenclature.
  • Good math skills.
  • Ability to compose reports to effectively communicate results /conclusions.
  • Proficient in MS office Suite applications, strong emphasis on Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills to handle multi-tasking.
  • Communicate clearly to production team, support staff, supervision, maintenance department and vendors, both verbally and written to maintain high service levels.
  • Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and issue purchase orders for indirect goods and services, ensuring accuracy in requisitions, pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Verify incoming shipments against invoices and packing lists to ensure accuracy and project delivery dates expected on orders over $1,500.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, and support groups on order quantities and deliveries.
  • Maintain records of departmental commitments and provide monthly spend reports.
  • Resolve invoice issues, validate deliveries, and close purchase orders upon completion.
  • Order and receive parts and supplies, monitor inventory levels, and address discrepancies.
  • Review taxable status of purchases and ensure compliance with state tax laws.
  • Manage and track spend against blanket orders, reporting to department managers and Finance.
  • Coordinate service work with vendors, ensuring safety concerns are addressed.
  • Maintain the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Develop spreadsheets for communication and reporting purposes.
  • Identify, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Regularly interact with maintenance technicians and third-party vendors.
