Maintenance Parts & Planning Lead

JonnyPopsElk River, MN
$80,000 - $120,000Onsite

About The Position

The Maintenance Parts & Planning Lead is responsible for managing the maintenance parts supply chain and the maintenance planning process at JonnyPops' Elk River facility. This role ensures that the right parts are available at the right cost when needed by technicians, and that preventive maintenance and facilities work are proactively scheduled into the production plan. It is a hands-on role focused on planning and inventory management, not people management of technicians. The position involves partnering with the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, Production/Plant Planning, and Facilities to maintain equipment reliability without disrupting output, and serving as the business owner for the FIIX CMMS parts and planning modules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years in maintenance planning, MRO/spare-parts inventory management, or supply chain within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience administering a CMMS (FIIX or similar), including owning system data.
  • A track record of managing parts inventory against both service-level and cost targets.
  • A track record of coordinating maintenance schedules with a production or operations planning function.
  • Strong Excel/data skills; comfortable building or maintaining reporting and dashboards.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Food/CPG manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with GMPs and food manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the maintenance parts room end-to-end, including organization, labeling, security, cycle counts, and min/max stocking levels for critical spares.
  • Source, quote, order, and expedite parts, managing vendor relationships, lead times, and pricing to meet service and cost targets.
  • Manage parts service level (availability when needed) and parts/inventory cost (carrying cost, price variance, obsolete/excess stock) as core metrics.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, such as standardizing spares, consolidating vendors, and right-sizing stocking levels.
  • Own the PM (preventive maintenance) schedule in FIIX, planning, kitting, and sequencing PM and facilities work.
  • Partner with Production/Plant Planning to integrate PM, facilities, and capital work into the production schedule with minimal impact to output.
  • Run a recurring maintenance planning cadence with key stakeholders to plan ahead, resolve conflicts, and finalize the schedule.
  • Track and report PM attainment, schedule compliance, and work-order backlog, identifying risks to reliability or production.
  • Serve as the business owner and administrator for the FIIX CMMS parts and planning modules, including bills of materials, spare-part-to-asset linkages, min/max settings, work order templates, and reporting.
  • Maintain clean and current asset, parts, and criticality data within the CMMS.
  • Partner with IT and business users to optimize and train on FIIX, NetSuite, and other relevant tools and processes, including AI tools.
  • Act as a business partner to Production, Plant Planning, Facilities, and Finance/Procurement, translating tradeoffs into actionable decisions.
  • Anticipate parts needs, lead times, and schedule conflicts.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement projects related to kitting, stocking strategies, vendor consolidation, and planning processes.
  • Coordinate with the FSQA team when scheduling maintenance or facilities work in areas that may impact food safety or quality.
  • Ensure parts ordered for food-contact equipment meet food-grade specifications and are documented appropriately.
  • Follow all GMPs and facility food-safety and visitor protocols.
