About The Position

The Maintenance Parts Clerk is responsible for assisting in maintaining an accurate parts inventory. This role involves preparing and maintaining inventory records of supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring minimum stock quantities are always met. The clerk will receive and count stock items, record data manually or via computer, store items efficiently, and issue materials and equipment. Responsibilities also include inspecting stock for defects, reporting damage, maintaining records, and compiling reports.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to independently control parts, supplies, and tools inventories
  • Conduct inventory counts, parts issue and return, receipt of parts and supplies (into ERP system), maintain tool room organization, and file documents
  • Employee is required to work in cold, damp environment
  • The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Ability to lift and move 25-75 pounds (with assistance, when required)
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Available to work a Monday to Friday schedule, with weekend work as dictated by production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to proper manufacturing methods to sustain Food Safety and Quality expectations.
  • Collaborate and resolve issues quickly and efficiently focusing on company's Core Values.
  • Retrieve parts as requested for repairs and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Track parts usage and assist with inventory control.
  • Order parts for stock and mechanics as needed.
  • Receive and put away parts.
  • File and process paperwork.
  • Review and control parts stock levels.
  • Control usage of tools and equipment.
  • Communicate with vendors as required.
  • Expedite parts and services as needed.
  • Assist with part and shipping cost control.
  • Control and record backorders.
  • Assist with keeping tool crib cleaned and organized.
  • Assist maintenance management as requested.
  • Work as a team player, ensuring product specifications are attained in a safe and efficient manner and communicate well with other team members.
  • Follow company’s GMP’s, SOP’s, Plant Rules and Policies.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Strive to satisfy the requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
