About The Position

The Maintenance Operations Manager oversees and manages the productivity of their area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports, communicating goals, and managing staffing, scheduling, duties, and workloads to achieve facility goals. This role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns. The manager ensures daily operations of the maintenance department are performed properly by monitoring and driving performance related to warehouse equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, general building repairs) and ensuring associate compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT) related to maintenance operations. They manage associates and leaders by giving direction, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training needs, and fostering growth. This role also involves building and leading a team to execute business objectives, coaching team members, conducting performance and career development conversations, and mentoring other managers. The position requires expertise in maintenance equipment, tools, and procedures, and ensures proper application of company and regulatory policies. The manager directs and instructs others on equipment and facility maintenance and repair, implements guidelines to maintain customer satisfaction and compliance with maintenance standards (e.g., lock out/tag out, contractor safety), and coordinates job-related activities by developing stakeholder relationships, supporting initiatives, communicating goals, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning. The role also involves supervising and developing associates, ensuring compliance with company policies, and upholding company values and ethics. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certification (e.g., Maintenance, Controls, Electrical) and 1 year of experience in an operations, distribution, logistics, or retail environment with responsibilities including: supervising and developing managers/supervisors, managing workload across multiple departments, participating in hiring and promotions.
  • OR at least 3 years of experience in a maintenance or related technical environment with the same leadership and staffing responsibilities listed above.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

  • Industrial Warehouse maintenance processes (e.g., preventative maintenance, material handling equipment, power equipment, facilities upkeep) to include project management.

  • Manages associates and leaders by giving direction, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Teaches, supports, and models Logistics and company policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates, leaders, and managers.
  • Drives the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety) by implementing operational improvements, monitoring and tracking expenses and capital expenditures compared to budget, and monitoring asset utilization.
  • Develops, distributes, and/or maintains procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Builds and leads a team to execute on business area objectives.
  • Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance.
  • Conducts performance and career development conversations.
  • Mentors Maintenance Area Managers and Maintenance Operations Managers.
  • Demonstrates and leverages knowledge of and expertise in maintenance equipment, tools, and procedures (e.g., repair and installation methods) to drive quality maintenance services.
  • Utilizes and enforces proper application of company and regulatory policies, standards, and procedures by associates throughout area of responsibility.
  • Directs and instructs others regarding procedures for maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities.
  • Implements guidelines and measures to maintain customer satisfaction and ensure proper compliance with maintenance-related standards (e.g., lock out/tag out, contractor safety).
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
