About The Position

Manage 24-hour operations branch activities at a major transportation bridge-tunnel crossing. Supervise employees and traffic management activities to ensure the facility is used safely and efficiently by the traveling public. The role includes administering human resources activities, developing and monitoring operations budgets, directing work planning and procurement, managing resources responsibly, and leading the Operations Branch’s administrative, budgetary, and operational responsibilities.

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences.
Ability to coordinate, direct, and evaluate performance of staff involved in 24-hour operations.
Ability to plan, instruct, and supervise, interpret Virginia State Code, and implement policies and procedures.
Ability to prioritize and communicate multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
Extensive experience in bridge-tunnel supervisory work or managerial experience in other large, multifaceted organizations.
Knowledge of administrative and supervisory principles and practices.
Knowledge of management principles for public service organizations.
Skill in using computers and software applications.
Valid driver's license.

Lead the Operations Branch through planning and implementation of appropriate processes, procedures, and policies for administrative, budgetary, and operational responsibilities.
Coordinate, direct, and evaluate staff involved in 24-hour operations.
Respond effectively to emergency situations.
