About The Position
The USU Housing Maintenance Laborer is responsible for assisting in various maintenance tasks within residence halls. This includes tasks such as replacing hot water heaters, changing furnace filters, light bulbs, and smoke alarm batteries, as well as turning over apartments and addressing some plumbing issues. The role may also involve working overtime and some weekends to perform off-site on-call functions for maintenance emergencies.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license required in order to perform job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting equipment.
- 18 years or older required to operate equipment.
Responsibilities
- Use of basic hand tools.
- Change out light bulbs.
- Unplug toilets and drains.
- Move/maintain fridges and stoves.
- Assist in replacing hot water heaters.
- Assist in changing furnace filters.
- Assist in changing smoke alarm batteries.
- Assist in changing batteries in door locks.
- Assist in apartments turn-over's.
- Assist in some plumbing problems.
- Assist working rotating off-site on-call shifts for maintenance emergencies.
