About The Position

ClarkDietrich, a leading manufacturer of cold-formed steel framing and interior and exterior finishing products in North America, is seeking a Maintenance Electrician/Mechanic for their Warren, OH location. This role is responsible for maintaining the entire plant's production equipment electrical systems, installing new electrical devices and controls, and performing repair and preventative maintenance work on various equipment. The position requires a strong work ethic, a desire for cross-training and development, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High school/GED or Trade school in machines.

  • Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
  • Able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior manufacturing, maintenance, electrical and mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the entire plant's production equipment electrical systems and install new electrical devices and controls without supervision.
  • Perform repair and preventative maintenance work on equipment per the preventive maintenance schedule, specifically on mills, stackers, slitters, upenders, cutoffs, conveyors, hadleys, and other items as directed by supervisor.
  • Follow all safety procedures per Company Regulations and State and Federal Regulations (NFPA70E, OSHA, etc.).
  • Implement, upgrade, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install control systems to improve safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Read, edit, and create PLC Ladder Logic as it relates to the operation and modification of production equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of all control systems.
  • Maintain backup documentation for the settings on all pieces of equipment within the facility.
  • Communicate with operators to assist with solutions or repair of electrical problems.
  • Possess a solid understanding of all the Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Systems of the equipment.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of training programs for other maintenance employees or operators.
  • Ability to Weld, Burn, & Cut.
  • Perform necessary machinery mechanical modifications and upgrades.
  • Gather information for new and/or existing equipment.
  • Assist in keeping inventory levels stable.
  • Work with vendors and consultants to troubleshoot and repair electrical and control related issues.
  • Perform MIG and Stick welding for plant machinery repairs.
  • Work safely and follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Properly inspect equipment and complete any required forms.
  • Wear and maintain all required PPE.
  • Understand all safety devices and their operation.
  • Keep maintenance department clean, organized, and safe.
  • Complete required paperwork for use with portable welding equipment and ladders.
