About The Position

The Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs complex automated machinery and systems that integrate electrical, mechanical, and electronic components. This role requires a combination of electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot faults in a variety of industrial equipment and machinery. Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, executing repairs, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of automated systems. All shifts possible.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of combined experience in Electrical Maintenance with technical certification in industrial electricity, electronics, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, including PLCs and motor control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other relevant safety and building regulations
  • Ability to interpret and work from complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues efficiently and implement effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular inspections and perform scheduled and emergency repairs on manufacturing equipment, including electrical wiring, motors, control panels, and automated systems.
  • Executes preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on production and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Diagnoses and fix electrical issues and malfunctions in production machinery using specialized testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Installs and tests new electrical equipment and wiring in the facility according to blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Works with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to troubleshoot and repair industrial automation systems.
  • Adheres strictly to safety protocols, electrical codes (like the NEC), and company procedures to ensure all work is performed safely and prevents electrical hazards.
  • Maintains accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, often using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Works with other maintenance staff, production teams, and engineers to optimize equipment reliability and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Ensures all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, electrical codes, and company procedures.
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
