About The Position

The intern will collaborate with team members to provide engineering support on Maintenance and Modification projects. This internship offers the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of rail cars and their components, develop skills in Auto-CAD and SolidWorks, learn technical writing, gain data analytics experience, improve presentation skills, and gain experience estimating labor costs.

Requirements

  • Major(s): Mechanical Engineering.
  • Completed at least 1 year at an accredited college/university.
  • Specific course work: Statics, Strength of Materials, AutoCad, SolidWorks or other 3D modeling.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Min GPA of 2.5.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Create supplemental documents for maintenance instructions and modifications.
  • Review data related to maintenance on our railcars.
  • Review repair process to identify discrete steps and estimate time required to complete the repair.
