Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Millwright is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to support smooth plant operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, leadership, and strict adherence to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies. Fine Choice Foods started in 1986 making dim sum by hand as a labor of love in a small shop in Vancouver. Today, we supply to retailers across Canada and into the US, while taking pride in producing our products with the same care and passion we began with. While our journey began with a wide variety of Asian-inspired offerings, we now specialize in spring rolls and dumplings. Our vision – “For everyone to love our food as much as we do!”
Requirements
- Red Seal Certified or hold valid BC Journeyman Millwright Certification
- 1-3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience working with a CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Software)
Nice To Haves
- TIG welding experience is an asset
- Boiler, refrigeration, and HVAC experience are an asset
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in routine preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate records.
- Respond promptly to floor calls and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking maintenance tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and related components.
- Perform general facility maintenance as required.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions and necessary repairs.
