The company is seeking a Journeyman Millwright for maintenance work at a facility in Houston, TX. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Supervisor and involves performing a variety of routine duties within established policies. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume or walk in at the Pasadena Personnel office. No Per Diem is offered, making this ideal for local candidates. The role requires availability for overtime and call-outs as needed, with a 5/8's work schedule that is subject to change. NCCER Plus certification is highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Millwright is required, with specific experience in centrifugal pumps, troubleshooting, rebuilding, seal changes, and pump motor alignment. The ability to lead the repair and replacement of large complex rotating equipment is essential. A background check and drug test are required.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantles machines.
  • Moves machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
  • Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method.
  • Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
  • Remove plant equipment, disassemble, repair and reinstall.
