About The Position

Chudleigh's is seeking a Maintenance Millwright to join their team. For over 50 years, Chudleigh's has been a part of people's lives, known for its innovative and dedicated team. The company operates a modern 110,000 square foot bakery with 200 full-time employees, producing desserts for customers across North America. This role is crucial for maintaining production equipment and ensuring smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Millwright Ticket 433A or Apprenticeship Level 4.
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
  • Flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays, as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as needed.
  • Basic computer skills (CMMS, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, and their design, use, repair, and maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • Dessert Manufacturing or Bakery experience.
  • Exposure to Lean, TPM, or continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Repair or replace defective components to restore equipment performance.
  • Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Fabricate and modify parts using welding, machining, or hand tools as required.
  • Assist with equipment installation, setup, and upgrades.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Provide hands-on support during production to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work closely with operators to resolve issues.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Support initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of materials, tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records in CMMS.
  • Track downtime, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
  • Adhere to LOTO and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned for operational requirements.
