About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking a Journeyman Millwright for maintenance work at a facility in Pasadena, TX. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Supervisor and performs a variety of routine duties within established policies. The position is ideal for candidates local to the area as no per diem is offered. Candidates must be available to work overtime and call-outs as needed, with a 5/8's work schedule that is subject to change. NCCER Plus is highly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Millwright is required, with specific experience in centrifugal pumps, troubleshooting, rebuilding, seal changes, and pump motor alignment. The role requires the overall ability to lead the job in the repair and replacement of large complex rotating equipment. A background check and drug test are required, and candidates must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Millwright.
  • Experience working with centrifugal pumps.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, rebuilding, and seal changes.
  • Experience with pump motor alignment.
  • Overall ability to lead the job in repair and replacement of large complex rotating equipment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantles machines.
  • Moves machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
  • Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method.
  • Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
  • Remove plant equipment, disassemble, repair and reinstall.
