The major role of this job is to focus on all aspects related to safety, environmental, production, cost, quality, and people management through the continuous application of GBS principles for area/cell of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Material Science
  • 5 – 7 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality met.
  • Previous qualifying experience in scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing.
  • Previous qualifying experience in shipping/warehouse operations, and supervisory/facilitation a must.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate ideas, give feedback, and resolve conflicts.
  • Results oriented.
  • Ability to motivate others.
  • Must be legally eligible to immediately work in the country of hire without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Controlling the work flow within the area of responsibility.
  • Assisting in minimizing downtime/breakdowns and maximizing productivity.
  • Monitoring performance.
  • Managing routine processes.
  • Training employees in routine management standards.
  • Facilitating training sessions for operators on compliance standards, routine methodologies, tools, policies, practices, and processes.
  • Coaching and developing the team at failure analysis and supporting the QIS methodology.
  • Developing performance expectations, auditing performance, documenting findings, and establishing corrective action plans.
  • Collaborating with and encouraging operators on subjects pertaining to GBS processes, audits, 5S initiatives, needs assessments, preventive maintenance and safety management processes and procedures, QIS, Kaizen Events, and other process routine management activities to identify opportunities for improvement and solve problems.
  • Conducting trend analysis, compiling, and analyzing symptoms and failures.
  • Administering all safety activities.
  • Coordinating all emergency preparedness practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Tracking performances on control items.
  • Ensuring compliance.
  • Designing and implementing new as well as updating existing standards.
  • Overseeing, contributing to, and supporting daily routine management activities including the GBS Processes/Tools in the day-by-day work.
  • Establishing and negotiating cell goals and managing Action Plans for area/cell of responsibility cell goal achievement.
  • Ensuring routine management efforts are followed and opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production within the area of responsibility are identified.
  • Ensuring standardization of processes within the area of responsibility.
  • Conducting needs assessments, auditing, coaching of production/quality improvement programs and standards, ITS training, 5S improvements, development and implementation of cost and environmental control goals, development and implementation of new and current preventive maintenance and safety management processes and procedures.
  • Administering standardization as it relates to processes in control standards, management standards, routine procedures, job aids, one point lessons, and process guarantee tables.
  • Ensuring that standardization processes are properly documented and training is provided to personnel responsible for operating in accordance with the standards.
  • Auditing performance, documenting findings, and developing corrective action plans.
  • Conducting standard compliance audits as well as development and implementation of new and existing standards.
  • Leading Failure Analysis when significant problems occur and comparing performance to existing standards.
  • Making appropriate updates to standards when needed.
  • Conducting performance audits against standards and developing appropriate corrective action to ensure compliance of standards.
