About The Position

The primary role of the Maintenance-Mechanical Engineer is to provide technical expertise in maintenance and mechanical engineering to plant Operations and Maintenance personnel. This includes troubleshooting failures, performing repairs, ensuring equipment is in functional condition, and contributing to facility and equipment strategies. The engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations, working closely with Maintenance Technology champions. They will provide technical guidance on troubleshooting, repairs, and evaluating equipment design for intended service conditions. For critical equipment, the engineer will ensure work requests include detailed engineering input on repair specifics like clearances, tolerances, materials, and welding procedures, and provide support for deviations. The role also involves ensuring repairs, techniques, and training are available and documented, providing technical support for parts specification and purchasing, and contributing maintainability input to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategies. Additionally, the engineer will support the PPM coordinator in reviewing spare parts lists, assist Operations in developing operating procedures, review logbooks for unusual activity, and participate with Reliability Engineers in developing maintenance strategies. They will provide engineering input to Planners' job plans and packages, review History Feedback forms from Crafts, and serve as a technical resource for planners and crafts. During turnaround work development, the engineer will contribute to work orders, especially for critical equipment, and write or support the development of maintenance procedures. Collaboration with Maintenance Technology champions on internal and external jobs to ensure quality repairs and support training for Crafts and Operations are also key aspects of the role.
