About The Position

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Engineer plans, coordinates, and supports maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and operational performance. This position provides technical expertise for maintenance planning, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital improvement projects as well as technical training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
• Associate or technical degree with equivalent relevant industrial maintenance and engineering experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in metals manufacturing, steel processing, automotive manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments is highly desirable.
• Experience with maintenance planning and scheduling, reliability programs, and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
• Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, corrective, and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
• Ability to calculate, trend, analyze, and present maintenance KPI metrics including: Technical Availability, Schedule Compliance, MTBF, MTTR
• Experience using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies and reliability tools to identify and eliminate recurring failures.
• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot: Mechanical drawings, Hydraulic schematics, Pneumatic schematics, Electrical drawings, OEM manuals and technical documentation
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, machining, welding, fabrication, rotating equipment, and industrial maintenance practices.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance planning software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, operations teams, engineering groups, contractors, suppliers, and senior management.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate maintenance projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prepare and present maintenance performance reports and recommendations to management.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, laser alignment, condition monitoring, and related reliability tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all plant safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Develop and update safe work procedures and risk assessments.
• Assist with accident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
• Create and manage weekly maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate outages, shutdowns, and major repair activities.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs including availability, schedule compliance, MTBF and MTTR.
• Lead root cause analyses and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Develop and sustain continuous improvement projects.
• Provide technical support during equipment troubleshooting and breakdowns.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, and OEM documentation.
• Maintain troubleshooting guides and PM documentation.
• Manage critical spare parts strategies and inventories.
• Support MRO and equipment upgrade decisions.
• Plan and execute maintenance projects.
• Coordinate contractors, OEMs, and suppliers.
• Prepare maintenance performance reports.
• Provide technical mentoring and training.
