About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems. This role also assists the Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition. The mechanic will help build a maintenance program that optimizes plant uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines. They will complete PMs, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment, and document work done without direct supervision. Monitoring equipment for proper working order and collaborating with management on repairs or replacements is key. The role involves monitoring boilers and associated equipment, assisting outside contractors, and applying general plumbing and HVAC skills. Compliance with company policies, maintaining a clean work area, and operating a forklift are also part of the responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience required.

  • High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain large industrial textile processing equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform start-up and shut-down procedures.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain and operate boilers.
  • Perform welding and cutting.
  • Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with plant maintenance operations.
  • Ensure plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition.
  • Assist in building a maintenance program to optimize plant uptime, consider costs, and satisfy industry regulations and OSHA guidelines.
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance (PMs).
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment.
  • Document work performed without direct supervision.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed.
  • Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation.
  • Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery.
  • Apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working area.
  • Operate a forklift to unload and load trucks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
