About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for safely inspecting, monitoring, and maintaining plant systems and equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, chillers, process heaters, and associated instrumentation. This role involves troubleshooting issues in partnership with production operators and taking corrective actions to ensure reliable operations. The position operates within an Industrial Manufacturing setting and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience preferred but not required
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate sound decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to learn complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems (single loop controllers, PLCs)
  • Daily use of hand and power tools.
  • Must safely repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry systems.
  • Basic welding, millwrighting, and blueprint and schematic reading.

  • Industrial process maintenance experience highly valued
  • Reduce repeat failures to lower costs and improve productivity
  • Work with production/operations and have knowledge of Bostik products and equipment.
  • Understanding maintenance processes, applications, and terminology related to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Safely inspect, monitor, and maintain plant systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues in partnership with production operators and take corrective actions.
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections and generate work orders for repair.
  • Repair/rebuild/maintain valves, pumps, chillers, and other process equipment.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues using a methodical approach.
  • Install new equipment and support capital project activities.
  • Participate in 5S, root cause problem solving, and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow written instructions and standard operating procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Support all manufacturing operations as appropriate on assigned shifts.
  • Follow proper procedures for the handling, storage, and transfer of hazardous waste.
  • Use hand and power tools, as well as slings/rigging equipment.
  • Operate fork truck, scissor lift, boom lift, as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all manufacturing/facilities equipment on a timely basis to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Use EAM System to maintain maintenance records, parts inventory, and other pertinent information.
  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Complete all mandatory company safety training requirements.
  • Document all activities in work order system and communicate progress.
  • Understand equipment failures and put actions in place to improve and prevent repeat issues.
  • Respond to production and other customers, along with problem-solving and learning.
