The Maintenance Mechanic will install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s mechanical/electrical equipment. This role involves performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility’s electrical equipment. The mechanic will plan, layout, install, and repair a wide variety of complex electrical equipment, including control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, and electronic controls. Responsibilities include diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, detecting and replacing defective control modules, and making necessary adjustments. The role also entails performing regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities such as air compressors, lighting systems, cranes, welding machines, and other fabrication equipment. Additionally, the mechanic will perform various plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry functions, and use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment. The position requires the ability to build and wire electrical circuits for industrial applications and read blueprints. The mechanic must detect faulty operations and defective materials, report unusual situations, and comply with safety regulations while maintaining a clean work area. This includes servicing and maintaining equipment like motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment, as well as inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. Communication with the maintenance supervisor and manager regarding work orders and with the production team on repair and PM status is essential. The role also involves preparing and submitting maintenance reports using computer maintenance management software and performing other assigned tasks.
