About The Position

Auburn Athletics is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic responsible for the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout campus. This role requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, to support athletic events and departmental operational needs.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections and routine maintenance, troubleshoot and repair various building environmental systems (heating, cooling, ventilation) and associated systems.
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building plumbing systems, including domestic hot and cold water, and sanitary sewer systems (e.g., replacing fixtures, repairing leaks, clearing drains).
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building electrical systems (e.g., lights, devices, fan motors, breakers), including routine maintenance like replacing bulbs, ballasts, and batteries.
Perform basic carpentry tasks such as door and window repair/replacement, and furniture repair/replacement (e.g., replacing locks, hinges, drawer glides).
Maintain indoor and outdoor surfaces through painting, cleaning, pressure washing, and material repair/replacement to extend service life.
Provide assistance in other building maintenance and repair areas, including brickwork, concrete, flooring, and general construction.
Communicate and collaborate with coworkers and management to complete routine and emergency repairs in a quality and timely manner.
Enter occupied and unoccupied facilities (e.g., campus housing, dining facilities, offices, academic buildings) to perform duties.
Interact with University housing residents, students, faculty, and staff during and after normal working hours.
Assist in furniture removal, installation, relocation, and setup.
