About The Position
Skillforce is currently hiring Industrial/Manufacture Maintenance Mechanics in Richmond, VA. Paying $28-$31 per hour depending on experience. 2nd shift, 3PM-11:30PM. Primary responsibilities are the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of systems and equipment. The ideal industrial/manufacture maintenance mechanic applicant will be skilled in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, installation, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
- Your own reliable transportation
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, following technical manuals and schematics
- Diagnose issues by observing machine operation, listening for abnormal sounds, and using testing tools to identify root causes
- Dismantle devices to access and replace defective parts, inspecting components for wear, and ensuring proper dimensional specifications
- Adjust, repair, or replace mechanical and control parts to restore optimal device performance
- Install and set up structural and functional components, lubricate and clean parts, and conduct testing to verify repairs
- Operate metalworking tools such as drill presses and grinders to fabricate or repair parts as needed
- Monitor equipment operation, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and accurately document maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed
- Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of systems and equipment
- Perform routine inspections, adjustments, and calibrations to ensure machinery operates within specifications
