About The Position

This position will have responsibility for maintaining and repairing existing production equipment. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and fabricating parts when necessary. The Maintenance Mechanic will also manage equipment inventories, prepare maintenance reports, and work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. Active involvement in Continuous Improvement is also expected.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: a blue print, an electrical schematic, operating and maintenance manuals, a work order, repair parts request, standard and metric tape measure
Strong electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills required
Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills
Other measuring equipment: a micrometer, a caliper, a scale, a DMM
Must be familiar with EAM CMMS
Work with common industrial voltages up to 480
Proficiency with forklifts and scissor lifts
Proficiency with moving modular production equipment to and from production lines
Understand standard industrial maintenance practices
Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
Use email, texting, and radio as primary means of communication
Take production line troubleshooting calls
Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions
Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines
Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools
Recommend parts and supplies as necessary
Must have own tools

Nice To Haves

Metal fabricating skills a plus
Knowledge of ladder drawings, relay logic and motor controls preferred

Responsibilities

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment
Troubleshoot any issues of mechanical or electrical devices, correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity / quality standards
Control downtime by communicating with all departments
Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories, conserve resources when able
Prepare maintenance reports, document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs
Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures
Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement
