About The Position

Complete Building Services is hiring a shift Maintenance Mechanic for a small college campus in Adelphi, Maryland, and one satellite location. The role performs a thorough tour of central plant mechanical equipment each shift and completes preventive and reactive maintenance. The position is an open-shift role requiring availability to work any days and shifts to support year-round, around-the-clock coverage. Hours are listed as Monday through Friday, with working hours varying depending on coverage needs. The schedule may need to change, and the mechanic may be asked to cover shifts, including holidays or other special days. The stated pay is $27.50 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and trades training.
Universal CFC License.
Driver’s license.
2–7 years of commercial building or college campus experience.
Basic boiler and fire alarm experience.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with commercial building or college campus properties.
BAS/EMS experience.
Experience with high-pressure steam and chillers on site.

Responsibilities

Perform a full and thorough tour of central plant mechanical equipment every shift.
Complete preventive and general maintenance.
Respond to reactive maintenance requests.
Troubleshoot HVAC equipment and electrical systems.
Perform plumbing repairs.
Conduct daily building and equipment tours.
Float and cover shifts as needed to meet coverage requirements, including holidays or other special days.
Perform other duties as assigned.
