About The Position

Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to function under the direction of the Supervisor (or Senior Mechanic, as appropriate) to perform general maintenance and repair work. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Cooperatively accepts assignments and basic directions from supervisor or designee on needed repair, tools and equipment. Asks appropriate questions. Efficiently completes the work as assigned or, if appropriate, refers the job to the team leader or supervisor. All work must comply with code requirements. Knowledgeable in the safe and appropriate use of hand and power tools. Demonstrates the ability to work independently. Demonstrates knowledge of how to isolate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems. Cooperatively responds to off-hour emergencies to effect repairs or shut down equipment to ensure continuing operation of physical plant. Efficiently performs outside grounds work related to lawn mowing, gardening and snow removal. Replaces light bulbs, simple fixtures and ceiling tiles in a timely manner to ensure minimum inconvenience to patients, visitors and employees. Assemble or move furniture, equipment and office fixtures Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC related tasks Conducts scheduled inspections o facility systems and equipment Complies with all hospital policies regulating safety and safe work procedures. Assists with preventative maintenance programs Report safety hazards, maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly Monitors maintenance inventory and notifies CAO when items are needed Completes snow removal, landscaping and facilities cleanup as needed Serves as a member of the WMCHC Environmental Safety & Emergency Preparedness Committee Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Requires two years experience in one or more of the following journeyman skills: mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and/or electrical; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Requires a valid PA driver's license.
