About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic A is responsible for performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and equipment. This role troubleshoots issues, completes preventive maintenance tasks, and contributes to a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 4 years of required work experience
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain and repair plant machinery and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
  • Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and perform necessary repairs.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks as scheduled.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Rig, move, and install equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform fabrication work, including cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, and basic machining.
  • Replace bearings, align shafts, and install couplings and other mechanical components.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work area and properly store the tools.
  • Accurately document that the work performed is in the maintenance records or the CMMS system.
