About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems. This role assists the Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition. The mechanic will also assist in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines. The position requires the ability to complete PMs, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment and document the work done without direct supervision. Monitoring equipment for proper working order and collaborating with management on repairs or replacements is essential. The role also involves monitoring boilers and associated equipment, assisting outside contractors, and applying general plumbing and HVAC skills. Compliance with company policies, maintaining a clean work area, and operating a forklift are also part of the responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience is required
  • Punctuality and reliability is a must.
  • Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
  • Ability to solve problems independently.
  • High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • 2ndt Class B Boilers Operator License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed
  • Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation
  • Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery
  • Able to apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility
  • Always complies with company policies and procedures
  • Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day
  • Operate forklift to unload and load trucks.
  • Other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.
