About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and general repairs on plant equipment. This role requires the ability to work on various plant systems including ammonia, boilers, HVAC, and processing equipment. Welding, including sanitary welds, will also be a requirement. The position demands strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments, and a commitment to adhering to all company policies, GMP, and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability and knowledge to work on plant ammonia system.
  • Ability to perform advanced machine tool operations.
  • Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to rebuild cream cheese mix separators.
  • Knowledge of HTST operation and control & processing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated ability to work on the Plant’s HVAC system.
  • Working knowledge of the operation of the evaporator.
  • Welding including sanitary welds will be required.
  • Must have the interpersonal skills to work with other mechanics, electricians, supervisors and production/sanitation personnel.
  • Basic electrical knowledge for troubleshooting.
  • Must be willing to attend training seminars as necessary to fulfill the plant’s needs as a maintenance mechanic.
  • Must adhere to all site rules and adhere to all ways of working processes and procedures within this role.
  • Position requires compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, timely Period Work completion, and the ability to perform all sanitation duties.
  • Team participation is required.
  • Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) participation is required.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Will ensure that the equipment and machinery he/she works with is cleaned and sanitized according to the Kraft Heinz Sanitation Program rules explained at the beginning of employment and during refresher sessions.
  • Ensures all products manufactured comply with the Quality Assurance Program and policies reviewed during the on the job training applicable to this specific operation function.
  • Will follow instructions delivered during the training that explained the fundamentals of the Kraft Heinz Safety Process and will keep himself/herself and others away from harm while performing his/her duties.
  • Will adhere to LOTO policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks on time as directed by maintenance planners.
  • Participate as an active member in the PSM Team.
  • Work on plant ammonia system.
  • Perform advanced machine tool operations.
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Rebuild cream cheese mix separators.
  • Perform general repairs on plant boilers.
  • Operate and control HTST equipment and processing equipment.
  • Work on the Plant’s HVAC system.
  • Operate the evaporator.
  • Perform welding, including sanitary welds.
  • Clean, inspect, and lube applicable equipment.
  • Attend training seminars as necessary.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Comply with all Kraft policies, procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain positive rapport with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other Associates.
  • Participate on assigned teams and support team decisions.
  • Adhere to all site rules and ways of working processes and procedures.
  • Ensure equipment and machinery is cleaned and sanitized according to the Kraft Heinz Sanitation Program.
  • Ensure all products manufactured comply with the Quality Assurance Program and policies.
