About The Position

The Maintenance I Position Summary involves performing installations, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining and repairing equipment and fixtures. This includes equipment assembly, pneumatic and hydraulic installation, machining and modifying parts, equipment debugging, and safety feature installation. The role also involves assisting machine operators with the mechanical setup and operation of production machines.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging various types of processing and packaging machines.
  • Ability to utilize blueprints and sketches.
  • Skill in machining and modifying parts for repairs.
  • Experience operating a wide variety of machine tools.
  • Capability to install, align, rig, and erect equipment safely.
  • Proficiency in welding with MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-acetylene.
  • Ability to install pneumatic and hydraulic components from schematics.
  • Understanding and application of proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Willingness to wear proper PPE.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, processes, and procedures for maintaining a hazard-free work area.
  • Ability to perform testing on machines and equipment before putting them into service.
  • Experience completing documentation, time records, and material logs in a CMM system.
  • Ability to coordinate with maintenance personnel for shift transitions and communication.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Skill in performing corrections and adjustments on machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TPM/CLAIR program.
  • Experience working with associates to evaluate and implement process improvements.
  • Experience coordinating with plant supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and debug various types of processing and packaging machines.
  • Utilize blueprints and sketches.
  • Perform machining and modify parts as needed for repairs.
  • Operate a wide variety of machine tools throughout the maintenance shop.
  • Install, align, rig, and erect all types of equipment safely.
  • Weld with MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-acetylene.
  • Install pneumatic and hydraulic components from schematics.
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding technical information.
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance.
  • Work using proper Lockout/Tagout procedures and wear proper PPE.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and a hazard-free work area according to safety rules, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform testing before putting machines and/or equipment into service to ensure safe start-up and operation.
  • Complete documentation, time records, and material logs in the CMM system.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure smooth shift transitions and communication of cell maintenance needs.
  • Support TPM/CLAIR program and perform preventive maintenance on all machines.
  • Perform corrections and adjustments on machinery and equipment to maintain optimum productivity and quality.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and work with associates to evaluate and implement improvements with approval and in coordination with plant supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
