About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling equipment across various maintenance systems including machining, electrical, plumbing, and welding. The role involves maintaining machine equipment and hand tools, troubleshooting problems beyond basic component replacement within multiple trades, and managing equipment records and preventative maintenance programs. Additionally, the mechanic will be responsible for the proper administration of LOTO, confined space, and other OSHA guidelines. The role also includes working safely, preventing waste, maintaining production schedules, and participating in programs like Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use all general mechanical hand tools and light power tools.
  • Knowledge of light machine shop tools.
  • Understanding of low pressure hydraulic, pneumatic, with the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Employee must pass Pre-employment screening

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years trade school or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Industrial experience in a similar industry preferred.
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic mechanical or electrical skills.
  • Excellent precision measuring ability.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems.
  • Understand practical aspects of preventative, predictive maintenance systems & proper lubrication selection & application.
  • Able to read blueprints and plans for construction at plant level.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of machine equipment and hand tools.
  • Troubleshoot a problem beyond basic component replacement within two or more specific trades.
  • Responsible for maintenance of equipment records, and administration of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Installation, alteration, preventative maintenance & repair of various types of production equipment.
  • Responsible for proper administration of LOTO, confined space and other OSHA guidelines.
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.
  • Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
  • Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain production schedules.
  • Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
