About The Position

We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Carrington, ND durum milling and pasta production facility, where we produce Dakota Growers pasta.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from and accredited institution
  • Two-year associates degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.) or equivalent Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, or related role
  • Experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, metal work, and fabrication
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility
  • Experience reading blueprints and schematics
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
  • Experience with power transmission components such as belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears
  • Experience with drill presses, lathes, Bridgeport-type mills
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventative and predictive maintenance on process systems including mill, production, packaging, utility, and other facility equipment
  • Partner with operations to troubleshoot issues on process systems, utilizing machine manuals and schematics
  • Assist with maintaining utility operations including boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, water supply and HVAC systems
  • Document work (PM checklists, work orders, permits, etc.) and maintain GMPs, safety and food safety standards
  • Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation
