About The Position
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the facility in Council Bluffs, IA, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and instruments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- General maintenance skills
- General troubleshooting skills
- Welding experience (Stick, MIG, and TIG)
- Knowledge of bearing installation and clearance setting
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with SAP maintenance software
- Experience with PLC, HVAC, and vacuum furnace
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facility
- Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Detect faulty operations and defective material and report those and any unusual situation
- Perform welding including light fabrication of spouts, transitions, etc. from sheet metal including all positions (Stick, MIG and TIG)
- Rebuild pumps and gearboxes
- Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
- Rebuild, repair and replace damaged, defective, or worn parts
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
