Requirements

  • Should be able to learn and apply all the essential functions of the job.
  • All employees in this program will be on probation for a period of 2000 hours.
  • Performance will be reviewed by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee at regular intervals.

  • All Apprentice candidates are required to pass a RISE Tier 1 Exam (Math and English)
  • Minimum test scores are as follows: RISE Tier 1 Testing - Math: 70%, English: 70%
  • All candidates must provide a hard copy of the test results or Email test result information to Steve Dean [email protected]
  • The selection for these positions will be determined by scores and skillset through a Joint Apprenticeship Selection Committee comprised of equal number of designated members from the Company and Local 5286.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Upon completion of the Apprenticeship Program the candidate will be moved to the Journeyman’s pay rate of a Grade ST-C.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform various duties involved in repair and maintenance of a wide variety of machine tools (e.g. CNC Machining Centers, CNC Punches, Shears, Press Brakes, Punch Presses), material handling equipment and auxiliary plant equipment (e.g. HVAC equipment, air compressors, electrical and lighting equipment).
  • Cleaning and painting, yard work, lubricating, preventative maintenance.
  • Attend formal classroom training in maintenance related skills.
  • Complete all educational requirements within a four-year, 8000-hour apprenticeship period.
