About The Position

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and installing a wide range of industrial manufacturing and processing equipment. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations across plant machinery, fabrication equipment, and material handling equipment.

Requirements

  • All Candidates must pass the WorkKeys Assessment (www.workkeys.com) or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment.
  • Previous Industrial Maintenance Mechanic experience required.
  • Previous experience maintaining and installing of industrial manufacturing and processing equipment.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.
  • Must pass Skills Demo Test.
  • The hands-on demonstration consists of plumbing a hydraulic system and installing a bearing in a shaft based off of a drawing. In Addition, you must operate a Bridgeport mill.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and transport required parts, materials, and tools necessary to complete assigned work.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Access and navigate electronic maintenance, documentation, and reporting systems as required.
  • Perform all work in compliance with established safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support training, coaching, and knowledge sharing with fellow employees as requested or required.
  • Maintain required certifications, qualifications, and tool certifications per company requirements.
  • Identify and report job-related issues, including parts discrepancies, tooling concerns, procedural gaps, or sequencing conflicts.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, manuals, and job orders to determine appropriate sequences of operations required for inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial production and processing equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and overhaul industrial manufacturing and processing equipment according to maintenance schedules or operational requirements.
  • Disassemble, assemble, install, and align industrial production equipment and processing equipment as required.
  • Perform precision alignment, leveling, adjustment, and functional testing of equipment and components.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and determine corrective actions.
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Verify maintenance work meet applicable specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
