About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic will practice and abide by site-specific and company safety procedures and rules. They must understand and implement the Savage Maintenance Program, perform pre/post shift equipment inspections, and maintain and report spare parts inventory. This role involves properly recording and completing maintenance reports and service records, repairing and maintaining pumps, motors, hydraulics, mobile and plant specific equipment, and maintaining good relations and open communication with coworkers and management. The Mechanic will also maintain a clean work environment, complete PM services on plant and process equipment, and possess knowledge of rigging. They must be willing to perform any other special tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Experience with repairing and maintaining bridge cranes and coke cutting equipment
  • At least 3-5+ years of experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge and working experience with different types of welding and cutting.
  • Must be able to periodically work at heights of up to but not limited to 150’
  • Practices and understands time management, is a self-starter with a positive outlook.
  • Must have a strong mechanical background.
  • Refinery or Industrial Plant Operations: experience with high safety standards and regulations associated with hazardous industrial plant environments.
  • Experience with hydraulic operated hoist and drilling equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler maker skills a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP CMMS)
  • Experience with automated equipment and basic computers are a plus.
  • Additional experience operating back hoe, front end loader, dozer, or other heavy equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean work environment by removing trash and debris from all areas of responsibility including structures, offices, restrooms, break rooms, vehicles, etc.
  • Complete PM services on plant and process equipment
  • Knowledge of rigging
  • Must be willing to perform any other special tasks assigned by management
