About The Position

Polaris Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd Shift. This role involves carrying out specific assignments as directed by the Maintenance Work Order System, documenting completed work orders, and performing preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The position requires adherence to all facility policies, rules, and regulations regarding safety, conduct, and housekeeping. The Maintenance Mechanic will protect the company's investments in machinery, equipment, and facilities through careful, skillful, and knowledgeable work. Responsibilities include making required alterations/modifications to equipment and systems, assisting in establishing and maintaining maintenance standards and procedures, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly work area in compliance with 5-Pillar Standards. The role also involves partnering with facility leadership, engineering, and employees to develop and execute productivity and process improvements, and performing special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • 2-4 years previous maintenance experience.
  • Metal working experience is a requirement (including welding and fabrication skills).
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings and tooling prints.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/safety guidelines, procedures and policies related to maintenance and repair (such as Lock Out/Tag Out, OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour training).
  • Availability and willingness to work overtime as required; 'on-call' duty is required.
  • Ability to work well with little supervision.
  • EAM experience / Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree in mechanical maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out specific assignments as directed by the Maintenance Work Order System.
  • Document and update all maintenance work orders completed in the Maintenance Work Order System.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to assure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with facility policies, rules, and regulations on safety, conduct, and housekeeping.
  • Protect the Company’s investments in machinery, equipment, and facilities by exercising care, skill, & knowledge.
  • Make required alterations / modifications to equipment and systems.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, orderly work area in compliance with 5-Pillar Standards.
  • Partner with facility leadership, engineering and employees to develop, execute and maintain productivity and process improvements.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
