About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for a variety of tasks including electrical work, building repair, machinery repair, and rooftop repair. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, as well as building and maintaining mechanical systems. The position requires the use of various hand and power tools, and testing equipment. The mechanic will conduct preventive maintenance, detect malfunctions through observation, run diagnostic tests, and repair broken or faulty machine parts, including performing emergency repairs. The role also involves choosing appropriate materials, ordering necessary supplies, and working independently. The mechanic must also detect and report defective or unsafe equipment, follow all safety rules and procedures, wear personal protective equipment, and maintain a neat work area. Regular attendance is an essential function of this role.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Four years experience in a manufacturing setting
Electrical experience a must
Must have strong mechanical skills
Have strong math skills
Ability to read and write
Good communication skills
Ability to follow instructions
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds intermittently
Ability to do repetitive bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, and twisting

Responsibilities

Responsible for a variety of tasks including electrical work, building repair, machinery repair, and rooftop repair
Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment
Build and maintain mechanical systems
Conduct preventive maintenance to mechanical devices
Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality
Repair broken or faulty machine parts
Perform emergency repairs
Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs
Order materials needed for repairs
Works independently regularly
Detects and reports defective and unsafe equipment and materials as well as unusual situations to supervisor
Observes and obeys all safety rules, practices, and procedures
Wears and employs personal protective equipment as required
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner
Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested
Regular attendance is always an essential function
