About The Position

The Mary Campbell Center is home to 68 residents, and the Maintenance Mechanic assists the Director of Facilities in performing repairs and maintenance to the building, grounds, and vehicle operations of the Center. The role requires reliability, effectiveness, efficiency, and respect for residents, staff, families, volunteers, professional consultants, and the physical environment. This position offers the opportunity to keep a busy healthcare facility operating safely and efficiently, tackling a variety of technical challenges in a stable, mission-driven environment.

Requirements

Good person of high character who consistently works with a positive attitude and demonstrates compassion and understanding for residents with varying degrees of disability
Ability to read, write and follow verbal instructions
Excellent mechanical aptitude and skill in the use of tools required to complete tasks
Demonstrate the ability to perform basic maintenance repairs for vehicles, lawn, garden and snow removal equipment
Ability to lift, push, pull equipment and supplies of varying weights up to 50 lbs
Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance or a related trade
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities

Performs routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, completing assigned monthly audits, general repairs and preventive maintenance to the building/grounds
Performs basic repairs to electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems throughout the building
Completes maintenance work orders
Required to become Guldmann certified to work on ceiling lifts (certification will be provided by the facility)
Ability to performs maintenance and repair on all wheelchairs
Ability to perform general maintenance on vehicles and grounds equipment
Assists with grounds keeping and snow removal when necessary
Participates in the Maintenance-On-Call rotation
Assists with transportation of residents when necessary
Assures OSHA standards are maintained while performing all duties
Performs other assigned duties as necessary
