About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient production. Working closely with Production, Engineering, and the Maintenance Planner, this position ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • Industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing spare parts inventory.
  • Effective communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following established maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices at all times.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of PPE requirements, electrical safety, energy isolation (Lockout/Tagout), OSHA regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and plant safety standards.
  • Partner with Production to ensure equipment remains in safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and equipment drawings and schematics.
  • Perform equipment startup and shutdown procedures safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain the maintenance spare parts crib using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices.
  • Support the Maintenance Planner by helping maintain appropriate spare parts inventory levels.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document repairs and completed work orders, maintain equipment history, upload drawings, safety documents, parts lists, and technical documentation, and support maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance documentation and repair records.
  • Assist with capital project planning, capital authorization requests, and project tracking.
  • Evaluate maintenance procedures and recommend improvements that increase equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in Global Performance System (GPS) initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, production employees, supervisors, and leadership.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties and projects as assigned.
