About The Position

Sensient is growing and expanding its plant due to the Natural Color Conversion. This role is for a Maintenance Mechanic who thrives on adaptability, enjoys learning new skills, and likes working independently while expanding their knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for the facility and ask questions when things don't look right or go as planned.

Requirements

Ability to read and speak proficient English.
High School Diploma, GED, or relevant field experience involving reading equipment manuals and technical schematics.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment, including engines, motors (480V 3 phase), pneumatic tools, pumps, HVAC equipment, and production machines.
Understanding of basic hydraulics, electrical, welding, and HVAC equipment.
Interest in learning how to use and maintain new equipment.
Willingness to continue education through schooling (courses chosen by supervision/management), seminars, and training sessions.

General Welding skills desired or willingness to attain.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative mechanical maintenance on machinery and equipment, as well as emergency repairs.
Follow plant safety and environmental guidelines while completing daily tasks to ensure safety.
Utilize measuring and testing instruments to locate problems, remove defective parts, and adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Troubleshoot PLC, VFD, AC/DC equipment and test various voltages (e.g., 480V 3-phase, low-voltage & 4-20mA signals).
Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
Utilize general welding skills or willingness to attain them.
Develop excellent relationships with shift mechanics and production operators with a customer-centric mindset.
Be proficient in two of the following skills: refrigeration and air conditioning, pipe fitting and mechanical, and general welding.
