About The Position

As Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for scheduling and performing routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform emergency and preventative repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic and identify and replace worn or defective parts in a timely manner. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday from 3:00pm - 1:30am with occasional Saturdays. The hourly pay range is $30.00-$40.00 per hour, dependent upon experience, plus a $1.00 shift differential when working 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required
  • 3+ years of maintenance mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment required (food/ beverage industry is highly preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent Interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities
  • Occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (up to 1/3 of the time).
  • Frequently applying 10 to 25 pounds of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time).
  • Regularly required to handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds throughout the shift (2/3 or more of the time) for moving objects.
  • Must have the ability to perform the following: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Handling
  • Must be able to visually inspect parts and hear audible alarms and equipment signals, with or without accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on production and packaging equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems across the facility.
  • Maintain and repair packaging equipment including fillers, conveyors, palletizers, and bottling systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, and variable speed drives used in plant operations.
  • Complete basic electrical troubleshooting including sensors, relays, photo-eyes, and motor connections (120V–480V).
  • Install, modify, and repair conveyor systems including roller, belt, chain, and Intralox conveyors.
  • Use CMMS (MaintainX) to document maintenance activities, work orders, and completed repairs.
  • Support equipment installations, relocations, and modifications to improve production processes.
  • Utilize shop tools and fabrication equipment to complete repairs and equipment modifications.
