About The Position

We are currently seeking a motivated 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support our Production Facility in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is physically demanding, often requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, work in various positions (crouching, climbing, standing for long periods), and use a wide array of hand and power tools. The position involves performing routine, scheduled maintenance on a variety of equipment, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems, assisting with the installation and assembly of new machinery, adhering to safety protocols, maintaining accurate records, and responding promptly to urgent repair requests.

Requirements

  • Physically demanding, often requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, work in various positions (crouching, climbing, standing for long periods), and use a wide array of hand and power tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge
  • Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine, scheduled maintenance on a variety of equipment (presses, mills, ovens, shears, pleaters, motors, conveyor systems etc.) to prevent breakdowns and extend asset lifespan
  • Lubricating parts, checking fluid levels, and replacing filters
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems using observation, technical manuals, and precision diagnostic tools
  • Repair/replace defective/applicable parts
  • Assisting with the installation, assembly, and testing of new machinery and systems to ensure they function correctly before deployment
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
  • Conducting safety checks and training others on proper equipment usage
  • Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
  • Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Management and monitoring of spare parts and supplies inventory
  • Responding promptly to urgent repair requests and equipment failures to minimize operational downtime
