About The Position

This role is responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and facilities. The job involves installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery, as well as general upkeep of the work environment. Good housekeeping practices are essential, including using magnets for metal shavings, cleaning dirty or oily areas, and accounting for all parts. The position operates primarily on the 1st shift but may require working other hours based on business needs. The company is committed to producing defect-free products, and employees must adhere to Good Manufacturing Policies and be aware of food safety and security requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Basic electrical skills
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Must pass a skills test
  • Ability to speak fluent English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret memo, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write in English and complete reports
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Work in a safe manner and follow company policies regarding safety

  • Be aware of the work environment and when possible, prevent accidental or intentional adulteration of products produced at this facility

  • Replace hammers in hammer mills
  • Install sheaves and belts
  • Replacing chains and sprockets
  • Repairing hoses for all departments
  • Lubricating the assigned plant equipment
  • Plumbing repairs
  • Routine tractor repairs
  • Couplings and grid repairs
  • Concrete and masonry work
  • Window and screen repairs
  • Fabricating all types of sheet metal and iron work
  • Installing bearings on equipment
  • Handling call in work after regular hours
  • Repairing and changing of motors
  • Checking of the air compressors and changing of filters (air and oil)
  • Repairing and changing of starters and their components
  • Testing and diagnosing electrical problems
  • Trouble shooting of electrical equipment
  • Replacing of couplings between motors and other equipment
  • Use magnets to pick up metal shavings
  • Wipe down areas that are dirty or oily
  • Account for all parts and pieces at the end of a job or shift
  • Complete documentation if required
